DEPARTMENT OF LAW RANKED 4TH IN EASTERN INDIA LAW SCHOOL SURVEY

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 21st November, 2015: In a prestigious academic survey conducted by one of the most prestigious media houses of India i.e. India Today has been doing an annual story for last 18 years on the top colleges in various disciplines in India. For this year 2015 one of the main attraction for the North Bengalians was the inclusion of the name of Department of Law coming under NBU. The Department of Law has been ranked the fourth best law college of India in the Eastern Zone offering 5-year full-time Undergraduate degree in Bachelor in Law (LL.B) program and has been an Alma matter for many renowned advocates, judges, and teachers across the country. In this survey for Arts, Science and Commerce colleges in 17 Indian major cities were considered for the survey. For streams of Engineering, Medicine, Law, BBA, BCA, Mass Communication & Journalism, Fashion Technology, Fine Arts and Hotel Management colleges from all over India were considered. The process began in February this year when the secondary research was done to spawn the list of colleges for the survey using resultant data sources such as the internet, published reports and the Association of Indian Universities Handbook. A comprehensive list was of more than 2656 colleges was drawn up. Dr. Rathin Bandyopadhyay, Head, Department of Law described that the outcome is the resultant of the efforts of the all the faculty members, students, non-teaching staffs, alumni members as well as the University administration. This was possible because of their wholesome effort they have done of the years to make the Department reach up to its true potential. The department is eyeing not only Eastern India but the entire country as such to establish its name as the most promising law school.
